Losing My Religion

I am angry.

So this is me. Using this blog as my spotlight. As I’m losing my religion.

It started the weekend of the muppets’ baptism. Baptism: the first of the Church’s seven sacraments – meant to signify purity and cleansing from sin as a devotion to God. The welcoming of the new generation into the faith. Continue reading

North is Up (and Other Directional Observations)

Never. Eat. Shredded. Wheat.

Those four words sum up my directional abilities in their entirety. They represent the four pointed options on a compass.

Easy enough. But here’s where it gets tricky: the above is a static stationary image. If I move, there is no guarantee it will move. Then we end up going in varying directions. Continue reading

Inside a Toddler’s Brain

I would totally “pin” this if I’d figured out Pinterest yet.

Source unknown. I got it from here.

Bobby. A dog.

“I found a replacement for Scout,” read the text message.

“He’s cute. He looks like Cooper,” I replied. (Isn’t he cute?) “Why is he in our kitchen?”

“His name is Bobby.”

“Is he staying?” Because that would really be a LOT of testosterone in my house. Continue reading

Chicks Dig the Tough Guy

Who had January 11 in the pool for first injury?

The muppets were having an evening of backslides and nosedives down their new slide. Circle around, climb up the stairs – drive the spinning steering wheel a bit and head back down the slide. (Sometimes they break to bust a block tower.) Continue reading

The Red Dress

I got new glasses this weekend. They’re red.

I know…Nerd Alert…But I’m kind of excited about them. I’ve always been a fan of red.

(Gimme Red! Red! I want red, there’s no substitute for red.)

Clothing Optional

Once upon a time, in a land long before muppets, I had shame. I had a semblance of modesty.

Then I experienced infertility, quickly followed by premature labor, which ultimately ended with the birth of two children. AT ONCE (tiny as though they may have been). So add mommy-brain atop that list.

Guess what? I have no shame. I have no modesty.

The Uprising (or why I am cowering in a corner suspiciously eyeing my children’s toys)

The toys are trying to kill me. I’m pretty sure I’ve discovered the source of all the mysterious bruises that keep appearing on my legs. Also, I may have a broken toe.

I was sitting alone on my couch this evening, minding my own business, quietly typing away on a brilliant blog post for you. Only the living room lights were still on – the rest of the house was dark. I thought it would just be a quiet night to sit back, write, and enjoy a nice glass of the Pinot Noir Aunt Stephanie provided as a distraction for gifting the muppets two Power Wheels. (“Do not try to drive over your brother!”) Continue reading

Let’s make wineconing a thing! Continue reading
