‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through our house
the only creature left stirring was me with my mouse.

I was posting this blog, writing beneath the tree
knowing that’s where Santa would soon be.

The muppets were fast asleep in their cribs,
dreaming and drooling right through their bibs.

I paused all this typing to look toward the sky.
I was searching for a sleigh – with a child’s eye.

The muppets are sleeping soundly. They have no idea what’s going on. I am wide awake, listening for hoof prints on the rooftop and the jingling of sleighbells. Tomorrow it will be Christmas. Joy and mirth abounds.

“Happy Christmas to all,
and to all a good-night.”
