Dirty Girl (Or Run Like a Mother)

I have been doing this blogging thing for almost three years now. Nuts huh? It’s addicting – craving community, comments and interaction. (Comments are totally blogger crack.)

The true extent of my addiction was realized this weekend. I do believe I’ve begun agreeing to participate in events simply because there is undoubtedly a fantabulous story to be told just waiting to happen. Continue reading

Pig Pen and the Flying Leap

Felix Baumgartner leapt from space today. Destroy was impressed. Grandpa texted, “We’d love to have you and the boys come over to pick pumpkins.” These events are related.

Aww…we’d love to! I was impressed that they’d successfully cultivated pumpkins in their backyard. I had visions of my little muppets hugging tiny pumpkins in a sweet family Kodak moment. Then I remembered I have little boys. And for one to have a garden, there must be a plethora of dirt. Continue reading

Boys will be Boys

Well, another apocalypse has come and gone. I do believe the May 21, 2011 Judgement Day was Pastor Crazypants’s third attempt at salvation (the first two predictions fizzled in 1988 and 1994). My theory on why this prediction got so much reaction is due to the cult’s group’s massive advertising endeavor. For the past few months, there were more Rapture billboards than Starbucks in the Bay Area. Continue reading
