Elle is a small grey(ish) blankie with an elephant head. Destroy has Gunkie (a squiggly monkey thing) and My Caw (a fuzzy blue McCaw from the L.A. Zoo). Snuggled in every night under the blankets made by their grandmother, sleep does not happen without these soothing lovies.<\/p>\n<p>I have my phone.<\/p>\n<p>I made it a block away from my house the other day before acutely feeling the missing weight on my hip. Life does not function without my phone.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s my technological lovie. I grew out of fuzzy animals and into shiny sleek devices.<\/p>\n<p>I can honestly say I\u2019d rather lose my purse than my phone. Because my phone knows everything. And this got me thinking that the apps we have on our smartphone really do say a lot about who we are as a person.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re friends now, right? I feel we have a connection \u2013 I mean, <a href=\"http:\/\/alliosnews.com\/2012\/06\/app-review-wheels-on-the-bus-hd\/\">you\u2019ve met my kids<\/a>. And I\u2019ve gotta have a way for the bloggy platforms to alert me to all your fabulous comments!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Messages:<\/strong> haven\u2019t you heard? iMessaging is what all the cool kids are doing these days.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Calendar:<\/strong> home, work, family, blogs. Need to keep track of everything going on. And there\u2019s a LOT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Screen 1<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Contacts: <\/strong>who are all you people?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Safari:<\/strong> Google knows all!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clock:<\/strong> the backup alarm. On the off chance my toddlers don\u2019t wake me up first<\/li>\n<li><strong>Evernote:<\/strong> what just happened? (Mommy brain means if I don\u2019t write it down, it didn\u2019t happen.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Music:<\/strong> tunes are necessary. Country, rock, alt, classical, comedy \u2013 I\u2019m all over the map.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Photos:<\/strong> library collection of life as it happens. Evidence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Instagram:<\/strong> social proof of all our lives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Camera:<\/strong> documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Facebook:<\/strong> mostly a decoration right now since my little iPhone 3 is seriously struggling. It\u2019s not a fan of this app.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tweetbot:<\/strong> my new favorite Twitter app. I can stop tweeting any time I want. I just don\u2019t want to.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Foursquare:<\/strong> it may be a stalker app, but who can pass up the opportunity to check in on a volcano.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maps:<\/strong> I get lost. A lot. And often.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Listary:<\/strong> super sexy app. Groceries, home goods and to-dos.<\/li>\n<li><strong>MyFitnessPal:<\/strong> allegedly I\u2019m supposed be healthy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Starbucks:<\/strong> caffeine. Caffeine. So many shiny objects!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Blogs:<\/strong> WordPress and shameless plugs for my favorite sites. Because some blogs can\u2019t be constrained by Safari navigation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Information:<\/strong> like it sounds. Banking, travel, conference calling.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Health:<\/strong> wine, dining and medical establishments. The basics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sports:<\/strong> baseball \u2013 games, stats. MapMyRun and Trailhead hiking; I\u2019m going places!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reference:<\/strong> yes, I have the dictionary app. And also grammar and the AP stylebook. Don\u2019t judge me. They\u2019re riveting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shopping:<\/strong> self-explanatory. Stuff I like. (Descriptive, I know.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Apple:<\/strong> truth be told \u2013 these are the apps Apple forces upon me. I didn\u2019t know where else to put them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Newsstand:<\/strong> on an iDevice, you\u2019ll never know what trashy magazine I\u2019m reading.<\/li>\n<li><strong>iBooks:<\/strong> READ ALL THE BOOKS. And also the blogs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Settings:<\/strong> Buttons to push until the phone works better or shit blows up. It\u2019s technical.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What apps am I missing?
