My apologies for not clarifying within the article. All baths result in a super-soaking. I just usually manage to suds up the kiddos along with the surrounding acre perimeter. This time they seemed to be actively repelling the water.

Right now, the main bedtime frustration is when CJ decides that he wants to sleep in Leila’s bed, or one of the dogs decides that he wants to sleep in Leila’s bed. Only Leila is allowed in Leila’s bed – unless it’s half-an hour past bedtime and she has decreed the bed a cuddle zone.

And really, a bath where you didn’t get soaked? That happens?

One time we couldn’t find him in the dark because he had rolled halfway across the room.

Our daughter, on the other hand, was terrified. The front side of her crib meant safety, and she was sure she would perish in the night. When we went in around midnight, she was huddled in the corner, as far away from the now-open front of her crib as she could possibly get. And she was awake (the whimpering was the tip-off). She hadn’t gone to sleep at all, and was just very quiet when we went in to put the boy back in bed.

So, somewhere around midnight, the tools came out, the hallway light went on, and the front sides of the cribs were re-installed. But at least we all slept that night… 🙂
