While ours was not a visit to the NICU but a stay in the hospital with our 8 week old with RSV, it was the nurses and staff who kept us going. There was not time to find that perfect “Baby’s first Christmas” ornament as I’d meant to because I refused to leave the hospital. But it came to us in a little box from the wife of one of many doctors and it was perfect. I hope both you and she know how wonderful and how much hope your gifts brought to the people who received them.
